Entries are sought for the "revAmp Recycle resTore" juried art exhibit in celebration of "America Recycles Day - November 15, 2011" sponsored by MOA Solid Waste Services, ALPAR, Green Star, and Central Recycling Services. The exhibit opens Friday, November 1, at the International Gallery of Contemporary Art (IGCA) in the 4th Avenue Marketplace, as well as at other "green" locations throughout Anchorage. Entries must contain a minimum of 90% recycled/reused materials. The media format is open and categories are open (youth, adult, amateurs and professionals). Entries are due via email by Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

Welcome to our community blog...revAmp-Recycle-resTore! On November 15, 2011, America Recycles Day in Anchorage will have a First Friday Event of art, noshing, and schmoozing - all to raise awareness of RECYCLING - REPURPOSING - REUSING materials instead of tossing them in the landfill. We will have a Call for Art coming soon. This event is brought to you by many community volunteers and organizations, including, but not limited to: SWS, ALPAR, Green Star, and Central Recycling.
